Webmiss is born
- I started my very first website about Eiffel 65 in 2001 using the GeoCities Page Builder. Of course, it had a glittery star background and rainbow text. My brother suggested that I should start learning HTML and CSS. Oh boy, that was a game changer! It was exciting, but also quite difficult at times.
  Back then, I used Macromedia Dreamweaver for HTML and CSS. I created my layouts in JS Paint because I didn't have Adobe Photoshop. And just like that, my new website was born.
  I also remember putting all of my CSS directly on every page.
  For example: <head> <style> body { background-color: lightblue; } </style></head>
  
  Can you imagine having to go through every single page just to change the text colour? What a nightmare! I was so happy when I discovered external CSS files. Suddenly I only had to edit one file instead of updating dozens of pages. It saved me from repeating that horror ever again. According to the Wayback Machine, I never finished the new layout for my Eiffel 65 fansite.
Sakura Magic (2003)
- Life moved on, and before I knew it, Adobe Photoshop came around the corner. Once again, it completely changed the way I made websites. Not long after that, I opened my Dutch anime fansite, Sakura Magic.
  
  This introduced me to a whole new side of the old web. I learned terms like "affiliate" and "link exchange". An affiliate was usually a small banner placed on every page of your website, linking to another webmaster's site, while link exchanges were simple text links.
  Can you imagine having more than twenty pages and having to add those banners and links manually to every single page? And then checking every page afterwards to make sure everything was showing correctly?
  
  There were no content management systems, no automatic menus, and no fancy plugins. If you wanted something on every page, you updated every page yourself. It was a lot of work, but looking back, it was also a lot of fun.
Waterflower Graphics (2004)
- Waterflower Gaphics opend on 29 Januari 2004, it’s my graphics site, since there was a wide range of graphics websites in English, so I had to make one in Dutch.
  
  Thanks to Wayback Machine some of the layout thumbnails survived. I had wide arrange of graphics and layout’s from different games: Kingdom Hearts, Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy and, many more. Very soft pastelcolours, brushes, textures. Transparent text, that was populair at that time. I do feel nostalgic by seeing this.
Winds-Requiem.net
- On 30 July 2004 I opend my first domain, named Wind’s Requiem. This was for me, my dream coming true, I really wanted something very unique and after brainstorming about the name. I choose Wind’s Requiem, I loved the The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker. Luckily for Requiem was in the name as well, which is Seymour’s overdrive. I bought my domain on SoHosted.
  
  On my domain I shared: my character shrines, fanlisting, cosplay, the Dutch anime fansite and, graphic website.
  
  What happend to winds-requiem.net? I changed my host and domain name because SoHosted was very expensive, Winds-Requiem.net dissapeared and so did Sakura Magic, Waterflower Graphics and, Restless.
